A National Project for Knowledge, Environmental Education and Biodiversity Appreciation

The Medicinal Plants in Brazilian Education Project, developed by the Latin American Institute for Environmental Studies – ILLEA, is a nationwide initiative that promotes knowledge about medicinal plants, biodiversity and environmental education.

The initiative seeks to connect schools, educational institutions, libraries, social organizations and communities with knowledge about nature, valuing traditional knowledge and dialogue between culture, education and scientific knowledge.

Through the publication, distribution and promotion of books and educational materials, the project aims to encourage interest in nature, strengthen environmental education and promote the appreciation and preservation of Brazilian biodiversity.

More than simply distributing books, the project seeks to democratize knowledge, educate conscious citizens and encourage a responsible relationship with nature, contributing to education focused on sustainability.
